Which stock exchanges do Ovintiv shares trade on and what is the stock symbol?
Ovintiv common shares are listed and posted for trading on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “OVV”.
When and how was Ovintiv created?
On January 24, 2020, Encana Corporation completed a series of reorganization transactions resulting in the company: (i) establishing its corporate domicile in the U.S.; (ii) rebranding under the name Ovintiv Inc.; and (iii) completing a consolidation and share exchange for effectively one share of common stock of Ovintiv for every five common shares of Encana. The Company received very strong securityholder support with more than 90% of votes cast in favor of the Reorganization.

I received a Letter of Transmittal and Form W-8BEN (individuals) or W-8BEN-E (corporations/entities) in the mail. What is a Letter of Transmittal? What is a Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E? What should I do with them?
A Letter of Transmittal is the form that will be used by registered shareholders to exchange common shares of Encana Corporation for shares of common stock of Ovintiv Inc.
A Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E is a Certificate of Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding and Reporting. By completing the W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E (as appropriate), you are certifying that you are a foreign (i.e. a non-U.S. resident) shareholder receiving dividends from Ovintiv Inc. and you are certifying your country of residence for the purpose of claiming a reduced rate of withholding tax under the income tax treaty between your country of residence and the United States. Without a signed Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E dividends will be withheld at the maximum rate (currently 30%).
Please complete your Letter of Transmittal and the Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E, if applicable, and send both documents and your Encana Corporation share certificates back to TSX Trust Company (Canada) in the envelope that you were previously provided.

I received a Letter of Transmittal and Form W-9 in the mail. What is a Letter of Transmittal? What is a Form W-9? What should I do with them?
A Letter of Transmittal is the form that will be used by registered shareholders to exchange common shares of Encana Corporation shares for shares of common stock of Ovintiv Inc.
A Form W-9 is a Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification for U.S. citizens or U.S. persons. U.S. citizens and U.S. persons must complete Form W-9 in order to prevent the withholding tax on dividends from Ovintiv Inc. Without a signed Form W-9 backup withholding tax (currently 24%) will be applied on dividends.

How will I get my dividend payment from Ovintiv Inc.?
You will receive your dividend payment from Ovintiv Inc. in the form of a dividend check from Ovintiv’s transfer agent, American Stock Transfer & Trust Company, LLC.
Does Ovintiv have a dividend reinvestment plan?
On February 28, 2019, Ovintiv suspended its dividend reinvestment plan until further notice. If Ovintiv elects to reinstate the dividend reinvestment plan in the future, the shareholders that were enrolled in the plan at suspension and remained enrolled at reinstatement will automatically resume participation in the plan.
I am a Canadian shareholder and my dividend was reduced by withholding tax of 30% and not 15% as applicable under the income tax treaty with the United States. Who should I contact?

I am a Canadian shareholder. Will the Ovintiv Reorganization result in a taxable transaction for me?
As part of the Reorganization there were no Ovintiv Purchase Notes issued by Ovintiv Inc.; therefore, the exchange of shares should not be a taxable transaction to Canadian shareholders. Accordingly, no joint tax election forms will be required to be filed in respect of the Reorganization.
I am a U.S. shareholder and I have a gain on my shares. Where do I find the “all earnings and profits amount” as indicated in the Proxy Statement/Prospectus?
The “all earnings and profits amount” is posted on the Ovintiv website here under the heading “Investors”.
When was the share consolidation completed?
The share consolidation was completed on January 24, 2020.
Does Ovintiv have a direct share purchase plan?

On November 30, 2009, Encana completed a corporate reorganization to split into two independent publicly traded companies – Encana Corporation and Cenovus Energy Inc.
