Engaging with the community and supporting causes that are meaningful to us and the local population has been a long-standing tradition at Ovintiv. We believe it’s important to give back to the communities where we operate and where our employees live and work.

Ovintiv Lends a Hand at Inspiration Ranch

Ovintiv Lends a Hand at Inspiration Ranch

Members of Team Ovintiv learned hooves are made for more than trotting while volunteering at Inspiration Ranch in Texas.

As ranch hands for the day, our team helped loosen the reins so Inspiration Ranch staff could focus on its mission to serve children, youth and adults striving to overcome their physical, emotional and social disabilities through equine-assisted therapeutic activities.

After a long afternoon spent building fences, cleaning trash piles, organizing and stacking lumber—our Ovintiv ranch hands were chomping at the bit to see more of the 40-acre ranch. A much-anticipated tour included an opportunity to witness therapy horse training —expected to help enhance the lives of the special needs community.

Race Against Hunger Raises $10K for Local Food Banks

Race Against Hunger Raises $10K for Local Food Banks

In a Race Against Hunger, twelve eager teams raced the aisles of the Dawson Creek Co-op in a bid to take first place by collecting food items most needed by local food banks. In the end, nearly 2,300 pounds of food was collected and nearly $3,000 in cash donations was raised for area food banks.

Ovintiv, who sponsored the event, matched the monetary donations dollar-for-dollar and $2 per pound of food—yielding more than $10,000 for the three local food banks—Dawson Creek Salvation Army, Network Ministries and St. Mark’s Food Bank.

We cannot thank Ovintiv enough for the generosity in matching the donations received and supporting our community and region,” Dawson’s Mayor Bumstead acclaimed.

Since 2010, the Ovintiv Race Against Hunger event has been an annual event—held to raise food, funds and awareness for local food banks during the summer months when incoming donations are historically sluggish.

Supporting community life is a core area of focus for Ovintiv’s community investment program,” said Fiona Cuthbertson with our community relations team. “This event is representative of our community engagement approach in the communities where we live and work.

Utah Field Cleanup Bags 10 Tons of Trash

Utah Field Cleanup Bags 10 Tons of Trash

Our Utah field team rolled up their sleeves, put on orange vests and hit the nearby roadsides of Myton, Utah, to carry out the company’s annual field cleanup.

This year, the team collected 10 tons of debris—which included everything from glass and metal, to cardboard and plastic. This was the 22nd consecutively year for the Uinta Basin field team to take an active role in cleaning up the roads and ditches in the community where we operate. Showing their respect for the environment in the areas where we live and work is not just a priority for Ovintiv, but an annual tradition they are proud to call their own.

Community Investment

Ovintiv’s community investment is focused on three core areas: environment, health and safety (EHS); community life and education. These core areas align with our values and promote the long-term sustainability and growth of our operations and the surrounding communities.

Environment, Health and Safety

We view EHS as a comprehensive approach—supporting the health, safety and vitality of the communities located in close proximity to where we operate. Looking for causes that complement our ideals, we invest in organizations and concerns that are centered around the values of EHS in our local communities.

Community Life

Contributing to community life means investing in programs and endeavors aimed at enriching the lives of the citizens and families who reside in the communities where our employees also live and work.

We believe the best way to prepare the next generation for success is through support of educational programs. Our investment in workforce training is one of many methods we fund to help prepare tomorrow’s workforce. After all, the industry and the community’s greatest resource is its people.

Ovintiv Cares Program

We support causes important to our employees with the Ovintiv Cares matching gift program. Employee contributions are matched dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 per employee, per year. This program enables employees to double their donations while providing Ovintiv the opportunity to demonstrate its support of causes meaningful to our employees.

Community Relations

We have an active community relations program in each of our operating areas in North America. Our community relations team develops relationships with landowners, residents, local government and key stakeholder groups by listening and responding to community concerns. Our team’s proactive engagement with key stakeholders makes it possible for us to discover best methods to support the communities where we live and work.

Courtesy Matters

Courtesy Matters® is an Ovintiv trademarked program for our staff, contractors, suppliers and service providers. As a shared responsibility of Ovintiv employees and suppliers, the program focuses on courteous and respectful behavior throughout all stages of our development and ongoing operations in the communities where we operate.
